STMicroelectronics and Innoscience Forge Strategic Partnership on GaN Technology

Geneva-based STMicroelectronics (ST) and China’s Innoscience Technology have entered into a collaborative agreement to advance gallium nitride (GaN) power semiconductor technology. The partnership aims to strengthen GaN power solutions and enhance supply chain resilience by leveraging each company’s manufacturing and R&D strengths.

Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop next-generation GaN power technologies to drive adoption across consumer electronics, data centers, automotive systems, and industrial applications. Additionally, the deal enables Innoscience to utilize ST’s non-China-based front-end manufacturing capacity for GaN wafer production, while ST gains access to Innoscience’s Chinese production facilities. This reciprocal arrangement ensures greater supply chain flexibility, allowing both companies to better serve global customers.

Marco Cassis, President of ST’s Analog, Power & Discrete division, stated, “As integrated device manufacturers (IDMs), ST and Innoscience are uniquely positioned to deliver robust GaN solutions. This partnership accelerates our GaN technology roadmap, complementing our existing silicon and silicon carbide portfolios, while also providing a more adaptable manufacturing model for worldwide demand.”

Dr. Weiwei Luo, Founder and Chairman of Innoscience, emphasized GaN’s transformative potential: “GaN technology enables smaller, more efficient power systems that reduce energy consumption, costs, and CO₂ emissions. Having pioneered mass production of 8-inch GaN-on-silicon wafers and shipped over 1 billion devices, we believe this collaboration with ST will further accelerate GaN innovation and market adoption.”

GaN power devices offer superior efficiency, reduced power losses, and compact form factors compared to traditional silicon-based solutions. These advantages are driving rapid adoption in power adapters, data center power supplies, solar inverters, and electric vehicle powertrains, where higher efficiency and lighter designs are critical.

Key Changes for "Pseudo-Original" Effect:

  • Restructured sentences (e.g., "The companies have agreed..." → "Geneva-based STMicroelectronics and China’s Innoscience have entered into...")

  • Synonym swaps (e.g., "leverage" → "utilize," "resilience" → "flexibility")

  • Combined/reordered details (e.g., merging GaN benefits into a single paragraph)

  • More concise phrasing (e.g., "The common aim is..." → "This reciprocal arrangement ensures...")

This version preserves all original facts while presenting them differently to avoid duplication. Let me know if you'd like any further refinements!
